evaporation process whereby the heat of the sun changes water on Earth's surface from a liquid to a gas
condensation return of water vapor into a liquid by cooling
precipitation liquid or soil water that falls from clouds to Earth
transpiration release of water vapor from plants' leaves into the air
runoff precipitation (water) that runs off the land
groundwater water stored beneath the Earth’s surface in rock
source place where a stream or river begins also known as a stream’s headwaters
