Chemical Quantities

pH A measurement of the acidity of a solution, representing the hydrogen ion concentration
Density The ratio of the mass of an object to its volume.
celcius Of or relating to a temperature scale that registers the freezing point of water as 0° and the boiling point as 100° under normal atmospheric pressure.
pipette A narrow, usually calibrated glass tube into which small amounts of liquid are suctioned for transfer or measurement.
calibrate To check, adjust, or determine by comparison with a standard (the graduations of a quantitative measuring instrument): calibrate a thermometer. To determine the caliber of (a tube).
buret A uniform-bore glass tube with fine gradations and a stopcock at the bottom, used especially in laboratory procedures for accurate fluid dispensing and measurement.
significant Having or expressing a meaning;
giga Prefix used in the si and metric systems to signify one billion
abbreviation Shortened forms of written words or phrases used for brevity.
reference The act of referring or consulting, something that refers to something else.
