Protein Synthesis

Protein Synthesis review game made for NCVPS

TermDefinition
Protein Synthesis The process of making proteins and has two parts, transcription & translation.
RNA Single stranded, contains ribose sugar, and Uracil (U)
mRNA Made during transcription and carries the code to make a protein from the DNA to a ribosome
tRNA Bring amino acids to ribosomes and match with codons on mRNA
Ribosome Made of rRNA, this is the organelle where translation takes place and proteins are made
DNA Double stranded, found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, controls protein synthesis, has Thymine (T)
Translation 2nd part of protein synthesis - The ribosomes read mRNA and tRNA matches codon to create a protein
Transcription The first part of protein synthesis, where DNA is copied to make mRNA
