Climate Change
| Term | Definition |

| Weather | Short term precipitation, temperatures, etc that can change rapidly and is hard to predict. |
| Climate | Long term weather patterns that characterize an area. |
| Climate change | The long term change of the Earth's climate. Takes hundreds of years. |
| Native Organisms | Organisms that are naturally found in an area. |
| Non-native Organisms | Organisms that live in a certain area where they are not naturally found. |
| Ocean Acidification | The decrease in the pH of the ocean. |
| Glacier | slowly moving mass or river of ice formed by the accumulation and compaction of snow on mountains or near the poles. |
| Climate refugees | People that have been displaced from their homes because of the changing climates; usually do to either rising sea levels, extreme weather or drought. |
| Climate Scientists | Scientists that study Earth's Climate. |
| Invasive Species | Organisms that live in a certain area where they are not naturally found and they upset the natural ecosystem of the area. |
| Greenhouse gases | water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. |
| Salinity | The amount of salt in the water. |
| Turbidity | The level of cloudiness the water is. |
