Species Richness number of species in an area
Extinct Species that is gone from Earth
Extirpated Species that is gone from an area
Endangered Species facing extirpation or extinction
Threatened Species that is likely to become endangered
Special Concern Species may become threatened or endangered
Invasive Species a non-native species that negatively impacts the environment
Pollution harmful contaminants released into the environment
Acid Precipitation precipitation that has been made more acidic by chemicals in the air
Neutralize counteract the chemical properties of an acid
Bioremediation use of micro organisms to break down environmental pollutants
Stewardship taking responsibility for managing and protecting the enviornment
