Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection

evolution the process by which populations change over time
artificial selection the process by which humans select plants or animals for breeding based on desired traits
natural selection the process by which organisms that inherit certain traits will reproduce more successfully
variation natural differences in traits between the same species
mutation created due to a change in genetic material
adaptation an inherited trait that helps an organism survive and reproduce in its environment
extinction occurs when all members of a species have died
camouflage when a plant or animals blends into the environment to hide
species a group of individual organisms that can reproduce offspring that have offspring
