Biology Photosynthesis and Energy Test

QuestionAnswer
Why do most plants look like they have a green color? Chlorophyll absorbs every color but green so therefore it reflects green
What is the Photosynthesis Equation? 6CO2 + 6H2O --> C6H12O6 + 6O2
What does this symbol mean? + it is used between two formulas to indicate a different material
What does this symbol mean? --> used to separate reactants which are found on the left hand side with products that are on the right hand side
What does this symbol mean? (s) (l) (g) denotes the phase of the material
What does this symbol mean? (aq) when a material is dissolved in eater to make a solution it is called an aqueous solution
What does this symbol mean? (acetone) ------------> when a material is written over the reaction arrow it means the reaction takes place in that substance
What does this symbol mean? (triangle over an arrow) when a triangle is written over the arrow it means that the reactants must be heated in order for the reaction to proceed
What does this symbol mean? <------ -------> the double arrow means that the reaction is reversible and will reach equilibrium
What does this symbol mean? N.R. this will be found on the product side only. it means that the given reactants don't form any products
Do plants, like animals, use O2 to convert the sugar they produce during photosynthesis into energy and release CO2 as a waste product like animals do? Plants take in carbon dioxide during photosynthesis in order to make sugars. During photosynthesis they also use oxygen to convert the sugar into energy. Plants release carbon dioxide as a waste product just as animals do,but only during photosynthesis.
The reason behind photosynthesis is to get what? What is the name and the formula for this molecule? Glucose C6H12O6
