metabolize the process of using nutrients for energy and producing waste products in an organism
dormant inactive or resting state
yeast a single celled fungus
fungus organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing organic material
carbon dioxide a waste gas produced by active cells
photosynthesis the process requiring sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water that plants use to make sugar for growth
chlorophyll absorbs sunlight in the cells of producer organisms
sugar the nutrient cells use for energy
