Ruled Unit 19

TermDefinition
Independent Clauses Can stand alone as complete sentences.
Dependent Clauses They need another clause to be fully understood.
Adverb clauses Are dependent clauses that indicate how, when, where, why or under what conditions things happen.
Subordinating conjunctions Which can be either single words or phrases.
Adverb clause of time Indicate when something happen.
Adverb clause of place Indicate where something happen.
Adverb clause of reason Indicate why something happen.
Adverb clause of condition Indicate under what condition something happen.
Adverb clauses of contrast Make a contrast with the idea expressed in the independent clause.
