Questions to help you study for science exam

What is the Cell Membrane? The cell membrane keeps the contents of the cell inside.
What is the Cytosol? The cytosol is the fluid that is the transport system of the cell.
What is the Nucleus? The Nucleus contains the DNA. It is also the control center for the cell.
What is the Ribosome? The ribosomes clamp themselves around RNA, it collects different amino acids and makes strands of protein. Ribosomes are located on the rough endoplasmic reticulum.
What is the Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum? The rough endoplasmic reticulum tells the ribosomes which amino acids to collect and it extrudes protein.
What is the Golgi Complex? The Golgi complex processes the protein through the different layers.
What is the Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum? The smooth endoplasmic reticulum has no ribosomes, it processes the complex lipids, fats and oils.
What is the Mitochondria? The mitochondria converts sugar to ATP which is energy for cells. It is the cite of cellular respiration.
What are Lysosomes? Lysosomes float in cytosols. They eat the molecules that shouldn't be there. They recycle waste material.
What is the Cytoskeleton? The cytoskeleton helps the cell keep its shape. it contracts like muscles so that the cell can move. They provide a guide for thins travelling through cytosol.
What are Chloroplasts? Chloroplasts are only found in plant cells, they contain chlorophyll which uses energy from sunlight.
What are Large Vacuole? Large Vacuoles are filled with water.
