LivingOrganisms

TermDefinition
Heredity The process of which a gene or trait is passed on to the next generation.
Metabolism A total of all the chemical activities an organism does.
Asexual Reproduction Reproduction using one cell produced by the single parent.
Producer An organism that can make it’s own food.
Consumer An organism that eats other living creatures.
Decomposer – A plant or animal that breaks down nutrients in food or waste.
Scavenger An organism that finds it’s food, no matter where it’s from.
Stimulus An instant reaction to something that can be either external or internal.
Sexual Reproduction Reproduction done by the unity of two cells.
Homeostasis The ability to keep an organism’s internal conditions constantly.
Cell A small piece of an organism covered in a membrane that can do various activities.
Response A reaction, or a stimulus that occurs within an organism.
