Test on the major ingredients in brewing

Hops Provide bitterness from alpha acids and aroma from oils
Adjuncts Non malt materials such as rice, maize or sugars added to provide additional extract.
Liquor The water used in the brewing process - mostly added to the mash and in the sparging which rinses the grains.
Malt Part germinated cereal grains added to the mash to provide the main sugar extract for the wort.
Yeast The live cells added to ferment the wort sugars into ethanol, carbon dioxide and additional flavours.
Air Air is often added at the start of fermentation to provide oxygen which helps the yeast synthesize lipids in order to grow.
