Cellular Respiration

Aerobic Respiration The conversion of oranges matter energy to ATP, using oxygen and an electron transport system.
Fermentation The conversion of organic matter energy to ATP, without using oxygen or an electron transport system

Facultative anaerobe an organism that produces ATP using either fermentation or aerobic respiration
Glycolysis(sugar splitting)(where does it occur in the cell) occurs in the cytoplasm
Citric Acid Cycle/Krebs Cycle(electron carrier generation)(where does it occur in the cell) occurs in the mitochondria matrix
Electron Transport System(final ATP formation)(where does it occur in the cell) occurs in the mitochondria cristae
Glycolysis(sugar splitting)(principle reactants,energy products, waste products) i.Principle reactants: Glucose ii.Energy Products: 2 ATP, 2 NADH, and 2 Pyruvates iii.Waste Products: 2 Pyruvates (waste products ONLY if there is no mitochondrial function)
Citric Acid Cycle/Krebs Cycle(electron carrier generation)(principle reactants,energy products, waste products) i.Principle reactants: Pyruvate ii.Energy Products: 2 ATP, 8 NADH, and 2 FADH2 iii.Waste Products: 6 CO2 (carbon dioxide)
Electron Transport System (final ATP formation)(principle reactants,energy products, waste products) i.Principle reactants: NADH, FADH2. Also Oxygen is used as the final electron acceptor. ii.Energy Products: 32 ATP iii.Waste Products: 6 H20 (water)
