the pulmonary circuit: receives blood from tissues and circulates it through the lungs for gas exchange (picks up oxygen in the lungs)
the systemic circuit: oxygenated blood pumped by the left half of the heart moves through the body and returns to the right atrium (blood travels to and from the tissues)
diastolic: When a heart muscle relaxes
sporadic: irregular and limited outbreaks
capillary: the smallest type of vasculature
rheumatiod arthritis the autoimmune disease that targets the synovial joints
purkinje: fibers that conduct the electrical impulses of the heart throughout the ventricles.
systolic: when a heart muscle contracts
