The kidneys are surrounded by a fascia/adipose capsule. What is the function of this? Provides rigidity and protection
What prevents the back flow of urine from the bladder up the ureter? The steep angle of the ureter
What is the difference between the afferent and efferent arteriole? Afferent leads blood into the glomerulus and the efferent leads blood out of the glomerulus
What are the three components of the 'molecular sieve'? -Capillary wall -Basement Membrane -Podocytes
What is in the filtrate, but not in urine? Glucose
What is not absorbed back into the blood from the filtrate? Urea
