What is a method or an approach to language teaching? According to Anthony (1963): Approach: theoretical model/ research paradigm Provides a broad philosophical perspective on language teaching (i.e.: justifications for the communicative approach)
Method set of procedures – step by step manner how to teach a L2 or foreign language (more specific than an approach but less specific than a technique)
Technique specific classroom activity (dictation, listen and repeat drills, read and fill the blank…)
