What is a petal? It is a division of the corolla of a flower.
What are guard petals? They are the outer petals of a rose.
What are lip petals? They are the lower petals of irregular flowers like orchids.
What is the corolla? They are the petals of the flower.
What is the stigma? It is the part of a pistil where fiertization by pollen happens.
What is the pistil? It is the seed bearing organ of a flower.
What is a seed? It is the ripened ovule; the future plant.
What is the seed coat? It is the outer protective covering of a seed.
What is the seed leaf? It is another name for cotyledon.
What is a seedling? It is a young plant.
What is the embryo? It is the beginning plant inside a seed.
What is germination? It is the sprouting of a seed.
What is the ovule? It is the flower which after fertilization becomes a seed.
What is fertilization? It is the union of male and female gametes.
What is the style? It is the tube-like structure of the pistil connecting the stigma and the ovary.
What is the calyx? It is the outer part of the flower usually green and formed of several divisions called sepals that protect the bud.
What are sepals? A division of a calyx
What is a bud? A new flower
What is a terminal bud? It is a bud formed at the tip of a stem.
What is a leaf bud? It is an undeveloped leaf
What is the stamen? It is the male pollen bearing organ of a flower.
What is pollen? they are microspores of a seed plant in the anther
What is the stem? It is the main support of a plant.
What is filament? It is the part of the stamen which support the anther.
