Brain Structure!

This will cover our Unit on Structure, Function and Information Processing

TermDefinition
Cerebellum coordinates muscle movements, posture and balance
Brainstem connects the brain to the spinal cord. breathing, heart rate,blood pressure
Right Brain Controls the left side of your body
Left Brain Controls the right side of your body.
Frontal Lobe in the front, personality, behavior, emotions, judgement, planning, problem solving
Temporal Lobe On both sides of your brain by your temple. Understanding Language, memory, hearing, sequencing and organizing.
Parietal Lobe Interprets language, words, sense of touch, pain and temperature.
Occipital Lobe interprets vision color, light, movement.
Pituitary Gland bone and muscle growth, secrets hormones for growth
Neuron helps with sending messages throughout your brain
Dendrite root like system that helps in receiving messages from other neurons
CNS Central Nervous System, Brain and Spinal Cord
PNS Peripheral Nervous System, sends messages from the ends of your body to the CNS
