Superficial Toward the surface,
Distal Farther from the attatchement of a limb to the trunk, farther to the origination of a structure
Proximal Nearer to the attachment of a limb to the trunk, nearer to the origination of a structure
Contralateral On the opposite side of the body from another structure
Ipsilateral On the same side of the body as another structure
Intermediate Between two structures
Lateral Farther from the midline
Medial Near the midline
Posterior Nearer to the back of the body
anterior Nearer to the from of the body
