Cell Cycle
| Term | Definition |

| Prophase | The phase where chromosomes first become visible |
| Metaphase | The phase where chromosome line up aloing the equator |
| Anaphase | The phase where chromatids separate |
| Telophase | The phase where cytokinesis begins |
| Chromatids | Two identical threadlike strands of a chromosome |
| Mitosis | Division of the cell nucleus |
| Meiosis | Cell division that results in two very different cells, each with just half the # of chromosomes from patent cells |
| Cytokinesis | Division of cytoplasm |
| Spindle | Structure made of fibres that help move chromosomes during mitosis |
| Cancer | A disease caused by uncontrollable cell growth |
| Cells | Limited in size by their surface areas and volume, Exchange materials across the membrane |
| Centrioles | Paired structure that helps to organise the spindle |
| The Cell Cycle | Series of events the cell goes through as it grows and divides |
| Interphase | The phase in which DNA copies itself |
