Other Forms of Inheritance
| Term | Definition |

| Polygenic Trait | Trait controlled by two or more genes. |
| Co-dominance | When both alleles are completely expressed in the phenotype. |
| Incomplete Dominance | When one allele is not completely dominant over the other. |
| Sex-linked Gene | Gene located on a sex chromosome. |
| Pleiotropy | The control of more than one phenotypic characteristic by a single gene. |
| Linked Genes | Genes located near each other on the same chromosome that tend to be inherited together. |
| Barr body | A dense body formed by the deactivation of the X-chromosome found in the nuclei of female mammalian cells. |
| X-inactivation | When in female cells the extra X-chromosome switched off in the cells. |
