| fermentation | an energy-releasing process that does not require energy |
| alcoholic fermentation | fermentation that occurs in yeast and some other single-celled organisms to break down sugars |
| lactic acid fermentation | fermentation that occurs in your body; provides cells with energy without using oxygen |
