What is the peripheral nervous system made up of? Nerves
What is the name of the cells that makes up the nervous system? neurons
Name the three type of neurons? Motor neurons,Sensory neurons,and inter neurons.
Name the three parts of a neuron? Dendrite,Cell body,and Axon.
What is the purpose of the dendrite? To receive information from another cell and transmit the message to the cell body.
what does the cell body contain? anucleus,Mitochondria and other organelles.
Do sensory neurons carry messages from sensory receptors to the central nervous system or the peripheral nervous system? Central nervous system
Do Motor neurons transmit messages from the central nervous system to glands,muscles or both. Both
What is the main function of an interneuron? To connect sensory and motor neurons.
Name the two parts that the peripheral nervous system is divided into. Somatic Nervous system and the autonomic nervous system.
What kind of neurons does the autonomic nervous system consist of? motor neurons.
Is the somatic nervous system or the autonomic nervous system responsible for controlling the muscular system and external sensory receptors? The somatic nervous system.
Is the autonomic system responsible for controlling internal organs? yes
What are the two subsystems of the autonomic nervous system? The sympathetic nervous system and the para sympathetic nervous system.
Wich subsystem of the autonomic nervous system gets you ready to fight or flee? Sympathetic nervous system
Name the three parts that the brain is composed of? cerebrum,cerebellum,and the medulla oblongata
What two parts of mind is involved with the unconcious brain? cerebellum and medulla oblongata
Which part of the brain is the largest? cerebrum
Which part of the brain controlls heart rate,blood pressure,respiration and digestion. medulla oblongata
Name the part of the brain that is concerned with body movement,posture and balance. cerebellum
Name the region of the brain that is located beneath the thalamus which regulates hemeostasis. hypothalamus
