Vocab terms that may be on the Ecology test

Herbivore eats producers to get energy
carnivore eats other animals to get energy
omnivore eats either plants or animals to get energy

autotroph another term for a producer/plant

decomposers get nutrients by breaking down dead organisms or waste
Energy pyramid shows how energy is lost at each trophic level

Food chain A single pathway of food energy
Food web Shows many feeding relationships in an ecosystem
