Adaptation A behavior or physical characteristic that allows an organism to survive in its environment
Aquatic Communities Living factor included in freshwater, marine, and estuary
Biome A group of land ecosystems that share a similar climate and similar organisms
Climate Weather pattern in a region including precipitation and temperature
Precipitation Rain, Snow, Sleet, Hail
Community All the different populations that live together in an area (only living)
Ecosystem The community of organisms that live in an area, along with their nonliving surroundings
Environment Living and nonliving things that surround an organism
Estuary A habitat in which the fresh water of a river meets the saltwater of the ocean
Marine An aquatic community that includes only saltwater
Permafrost Soil that is frozen all year
Population All the members of one species in an area
Terrestrial Biome An area of land that shares a similar climate
