Banking terms
| Term | Definition |

| Credit Card | A card that allows a person to buy something now and pay for it later. |
| Budget | A plan for money. |
| Interest | Money that a bank pays you for keeping your money in the bank. |
| Safe-deposit box | A secure box at the bank for keeping special items. |
| Deposit | Money put into a bank account. |
| Withdrawal | Money taken out of a bank account. |
| Balance | The amount of money left in an account after the withdrawals are subtracted from the deposits. |
| Fee | Money charged for a service. |
| Minimum Balance | The smallest amount of money a person can keep in a bank account without having to pay a fee. |
| Savings Account | Money that earns interest in a bank. |
| Deposit Slip | a slip of paper you fill out to show how much money you are putting into a bank account. |
| Withdrawal Slip | a slip of paper you fill out to show how much you are taking out of a bank account. |
| Check Register | a booklet in a checkbook to keep track of checks and deposits. |
| ATM (Automated Teller Machine) | a machine that lets you put money into a bank account or take money out. |
| PIN (Personal Identification Number) | a code that lets your ATM card work. |
