Nutrition The way an organism gets its food.
Respiration The release of energy from food.

Reproduction The formation of new organisms.
Response Reacting to changes in the surroundings.
Invertebrates Animals that do not have backbones.
Vertebrates Animals that have a backbone.
Cells Are what living things are made of.
Tissues A group of similar cells which carry out the same functions.
An organ A structure that contains two or more tissues working together.
A system A number of organs working together.
Digestion The breakdown of food.
Enzyme A protein that speeds up a reaction without being used up min the reaction.
Product The substance produced as a result of the action of an enzyme.
Substrate The substance that an enzyme acts on.
Nucleus The part of the cell that controls the cell activities.
