objective lens enlarges the image of the specimen
stage platform that holds the specimen
light source light bulb that provides light for viewing the specimen
magnification the increasing of an objects apparent size
nose piece structure that holds the objective lenses
resolution the power to show details clearly in an image
scanning electron microscope(SEM) passes a beam of electron over the surface of the specimen (3d and uncut specimen)
transmission electron microscope(TEM) transmits a beam of electron through the thinly sliced specimen
metric system system of measurement that uses the power of 10s
base unit describe length, mass. time and other quantities (seconds, inches)
