TermDefinition
Domain three major subdivisions of all organisms. Largest category.
Kingdom system of grouping organisms that divides all life into six major categories.
Ecology The branch of Biology that studies organisms interacting with each other and their physical environments.
Ecosystem communities of living species and their physical environments.
Evolution The process in which inherited characteristics within populations change over generations.
Natural selection Organisms that have certain favorable traits are better able to survive and reproduce successfully that other organisms that lack these traits.
Adaptation Traits that improve an individuals ability to survive and reproduce.
