VIRUS Tiny particle that can only reproduce inside the cells of living things.
BACTERIA Tiny one-celled organisms, some of which can cause disease.
CELL Basic unit of a living organism.
CELL MEMBRANE Thin layer that makes up the outside of the cell and controls what enters and leaves it.
NUCLEUS Cell part that controls the cell’s activities.
CYTOPLASM Jellylike material that fills most of a cell.
CELL WALL Stiff outer layer that helps keep plant cells firm.
CHLOROPLAST Green cell part in plant cells that traps and uses light energy.
TISSUE Groups of similar cells that work together to do the same job.
ORGAN Different kinds of tissues that work together.
