| multifactoral traits | influenced by genes & environment (ex: identical twins not chemically the same) |

| true breeding strains | the parental generation w/ no other traits/genes |

| f1 generation | 1st filial generation |
| blending hypothesis | offspring is a mixture of both |
| hybrids | offsprings of parents who have different traits |
| genes | inheritance of traits |
| allel | a variation of a gene |
| law of dominance | some alleles are dominant and others are recessive |
| law of segregation of alleles | the gamete carries a copy of a gene as it separates in meiosis |
| homozygous | 2 identical alleles for particular trait |
