biodiversity The number and variety of living things found in a habitat.
biodegradable Something that is capable of being broken down by the environment.
resource recovery The process of transforming things we normally throw away into usable products.
conservation The wise use of and preservation of natural resources.
recycling The process of making new products from reprocessed used products.
alien species An organism that makes a home for itself in a new place. It is also called a non-native species.
invasive species An alien species whose introduction causes harm to the environment or human health.
