Økologi - processer

Aerob energiproduktion produktion af energi (ATP) vha. ilt via respirationsprocessen.
Ammonifikation foretages af visse svampe og bakterier. Mineralisering (nedbrydning) af kvælstofholdige forbindelser som protein, til ammonium (NH4+).
Anaerob uden ilt, fx er gæringsprocesser anaerobe
Anammox oxidation af ammonium (NH4+) til frit kvælstof (N2) vha. nitrit (NO2-), dvs. uden brug af ilt
Eutrofiering forurening med organisk stof eller næringssalte. Mange næringssalte fører til algeopblomstring, men algerne kar kort levetid og resulterer hurtigt i store mængder dødt organisk stof. Eutrofiering er forløber for iltsvind
Fotosyntese opbygning af organisk stof ud fra uorganiske vha. solenergi: 6 CO2 + 12 H2O -> C6H12O6 + 6 O2 + 6 H2O
Gæring nedbrydning af organisk stof uden ilt – frigiver en mindre mængde energi i form af ATP. Fx alkoholgæring: C6H12O6 + 2(ADP + Pi) -> 2 C2H5OH + 2 CO2 + 2 ATP, og mælkesyregæring: C6H12O6 + 2(ADP + Pi) -> 2 CH3CHOHCOOH + 2 ATP
Mineralisering nedbrydernes omsætning af organiske stoffer til uorganiske
Nettoprimærproduktion NPP, det der bliver til overs til vækst, NPP = BPP – R.
Nitrifikation Nitrificerende bakteriers omdannelse af ammonium til nitrat: NH4+ -> NO2- -> NO3-.
