Symbiotic Relations
Symbiosis and other relationships
| Term | Definition |

| Symbiosis | when 2 different species share a close and permanent relationship |
| Mutualism | a symbiotic relationship in which both species benefit (get something good) |
| Commensalism | a symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits (get something good) and the other is neutral (gets nothing) |
| Parasitism | a symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits (get something good) and the other is harmed (called the host) |
| Competition | when 2 organisms fight over resources like mates, food, water, or shelter |
| Predator | An organism that hunts/kills another organism for food |
| Prey | An organism that is hunted and killed to be eaten by another organism |
