retina Thin film at the back of the eye with light-sensitive cells (rods and cones).
lens clear disc inside the eye that focuses light onto the retina
pupil a hole in the iris that allows light to shine into the eye
iris colored muscle of the eye that changes the size of the pupil
sclera tough, fibrous, white covering surrounding the eye
cornea a clear dome that covers the front of the eye
suspensory ligaments tiny strands that hold the lens in place and change its shape
optic nerve a bundle of nerves that allows the eye and brain to communicate
rod retina cells that help us see black, white and grays in dim light
cone retina cell that allows us to see color
