Food Chain

Communities, food webs etc. in a population

TermDefinition
Population The number of one kind of plant or animal living in a community.
Community A group of different plants and animals that depend on each other for food.
Food chain Living things depend on each other for food.
Food web When two or more food chains are connected because an animal may have many food sources.
Lifespan The length of time an organism lives.
Life cycle The changes in form that happen in organisms.
Surroundings/environment The things or conditions that may affect a living thing.
Exchange of gases between plants and animals Animals (including humans) Breathe in oxygen and breathe out CO2. Plants take in CO2 and release oxygen.
