How animals grow and change

embryo a developing animal before it's born or hatched
nypmh a stage in an insect life cycle between egg and adult that looks like an adult, but has no wings
larva a young animal that has a different shape than the adult
pupa the stage in the insect life cycle between larva and an adult
amphibian an animal with a backbone that lives part of it cycle in water and part on land
gills the parts of a fish and tadpoles that are used to take in oxygen from water
tadpole a very young frog or toad
mammal an animal with a backbone and hair or fur; mothers produce milk for their babies
instinct an action that an animal can do without learning
