DNA Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
DNA a molecule that contains coded instructions that store and pass on genetic information from one generation to the next.
sugars One of the molecules that makes up the sides, or “handrails”, of the DNA molecule

Nitrogenous Base the four molecules that make up the center, or “rungs”, of the DNA molecule

Rosalind Franklin the scientist who used x-rays to make images of DNA that helped reveal its structure
Watson & Crick a team of two scientists who concluded that the structure of DNA is a long twisted ladder
