white blood cell a blood cell that fights disease
antibody protein that defends the body against disease
immunity the body's ability to identify, destroy and dispose of disease
antibiotic medicine that kills or slows the growth of bacteria
pathogen organism that causes disease
vaccination an injection that produces a mild form of a disease in order to help the body build up an immunity to the disease
virus an extremely small organism that causes disease in humans, animals and plants
bacteria a one-celled micro-organism, some are helpful and some cause disease
fungus a simple parasitic organism
lymph node tissue that helps to filter pathogens from the body
parasite an organism that lives in or on another organism
organism a living thing
