Genetic Variation diversity in gene frequencies
Plasmid circular piece of genetic material found in bacteria that can replicate separately from the DNA of the main chromosome
Electrophoresis movement of charged particles in s fluid or gel under the influence of an electric field
Genetic Modification forcing genes from one species into another entirely unrelated species
DNA Fingerprinting unique DNA base pairs used to identify a person
Cloning genetically copying a single or entire organism (identical)
Mutation change in the DNA sequence
Restriction Enzymes enzymes that cut DNA molecules at specific nucleotide sequences
Pedigree chart of phenotypes/genotypes in a family used to determine if an individual is a carrier of a recessive allele
Genome all of an organism's genetic material
Genetic Engineering precess of changing an organism's DNA to give it new traits
Recombinant DNA genetically engineered DNA that contains genes from more than one organism or species
