The plant Life cycle has who many phases and what are they? Have 2 alternating phases – a diploid (2n) phase and a haploid (N) phase
Mitosis and meiosis alternate to produce who many types of reporoductive cells and what are they? Mitosis and meiosis alternate to produce TWO types of reporoductive cells – Gametes and Spores
Diploid phase is called what? the sporophyte or sporeproducing plant
Haploid phase is called what? the gametophyte or gamete producing plant
plants need what to survive? Plants need (1)sunlight, (2) water and minerals, (3)gas exchange, (4) transport of water/nutrients throughout the plant body
How did the fisrt plants evolve? 1st plants evolved from organisms like the multicellular green alga living today
First land plants had to overcome what? 1st land plants had to overcome dry conditions on land
Kingdom plantae is divided how? Divided into 4 groups based on 3 features
What are the three features Kingdom plantae groups are divided? 1.water conducting tissues 2.seeds 3.flowers
Bryophytes or Non vascular plants are what? Mosses, liverworts and nonworts
