interphase the time between cell divisions
cytokinesis the division of the cells cytoplasm
prophase the first stage of mitosis, condensation of chromosomes
spindle fiber microtubules that radiate from the centrosomes
metaphase chromosomes move to the cells equator

telophase nuclear membrane forms around two new cells
cell plate a plate that later forms a new cell wall, making two cells
