Protein Synthesis

QuestionAnswer
1 mRNA is made from DNA and the genetic code is copied
2 Genetic code is fromed int he code of codons on the mRna
3 mRNA leaves the nucleus and attaches itself to a ribosome in the cytoplasm
4 mRNA first(stop) codon attaches to the ribosome signaling the begining of translation
5 tRNA brings along Methionine, pairs up the anticodon with the right codon on the mRNA
6 mRNA moves along the ribosome to the next codon
7 Next tRNA brings another amino acid to the mRNA and the two amino acids are joined by peptide bond
8 tRNAs are released one by one as the amino acids form a peptide chain
9 Protein syntehsis (translation) ends when mRNA reaches a stop codon
10 A polypeptide chain is formed which is used to make different proteins
