unique features of plant cells

cell wall a rigid layer that lies outside the cell's plasma membrane.
central vacuole a large, fluid-filled organelle that stores not only water but also enzymes, metabolic waste, and other materials
plastid organelle that, like mitocondria, are surrounded by a double membrane and contain their own DNA
chloroplast uses light energy to make carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water
thylakoid flattened membrane sacs
chlorophyll green pigment- the main molecule that absorbs light and captures light energy for the cell. they can be found not only in plant cells but also in a wide variety of eukaryotic algae such as seaweed
