Excretion

SCIENCE 2ND YEAR

QuestionAnswer
What is excretion? It is the removal of wastes that are made in the body.
What are the 3 excretory organs and what do they consist of? Lungs(water,carbon dioxide), skin(sweat=water and salts), kidneys(urine=urea,water,salts).
What is the kidney? It filters the blood-it removes urea and salts to form urine.
What is the renal vein? It's a branch of the vena cava. Takes blood away from the kidney.
What is the renal artery? It's a branch of the aortas. Takes blood to the kidney.
What is the ureter? Takes the urine from the kidney to the bladder.
What is the bladder? It stores the urine.
What is the urethra? It passes the wastes out of the body.
