condensation reaction a chemical reaction in which monomers link to form polymers
hydrolysis the breakdown of some complex molecules, such as polymers, occurs through this process. in the reaction, water is used to break down a polymer. this is the reverse of condensation reaction
adenosine triphosphate (ATP) the energy is available to cells in the form of certain compounds that store a large amount of energy in their overall structure
