Mead Middle Nervous System

Sensory Neurons Nerves that take in information from the 5 senses (smell, sound, taste, touch, and sight)
Motor Neurons Nerves that control voluntary (chosen) and involuntary (automatic) movements
Voluntary Nervous System Control of movements that are chosen such as running or talking
Involuntary Nervous System Control of movements that are automatic such as breathing, digesting food, or your heart beating
Interneurons Found in the spinal cord and connect the sensory neurons to the brain
Touch Receptors Endings of sensory neurons that detect touch or pressure
Neurons Nerve cells that make up nerves
Qualitative Data Data from observations such as color or shape
Quantitative Data Data that includes numbers such as distance or length
Variable What is being tested or changed in an experiment
