| Term | Definition |

| Sensory Neurons | Nerves that take in information from the 5 senses (smell, sound, taste, touch, and sight) |
| Motor Neurons | Nerves that control voluntary (chosen) and involuntary (automatic) movements |
| Voluntary Nervous System | Control of movements that are chosen such as running or talking |
| Involuntary Nervous System | Control of movements that are automatic such as breathing, digesting food, or your heart beating |
| Interneurons | Found in the spinal cord and connect the sensory neurons to the brain |
| Touch Receptors | Endings of sensory neurons that detect touch or pressure |
| Neurons | Nerve cells that make up nerves |
| Qualitative Data | Data from observations such as color or shape |
| Quantitative Data | Data that includes numbers such as distance or length |
| Variable | What is being tested or changed in an experiment |
