Levels of organization
| Term | Definition |

| Atom | The smallest part of a cell. |
| Molecules | Made of one or more atoms bonded (stuck) together. |
| Oraganelles | Composed of molecules carry out specific functions for each cell. |
| Cells | The smallest functional unit of life. All living organisms are composed of one or more cells. |
| Tissues | They make up the second level of organization. They are formed by joining of the cells that have similar function or structure. |
| Organs | A group of tissues that perform a specific function or group of functions. (example =the heart) |
| Organ systems | A collection of organs that work together to perform a specific function. (Example: the digestive system.) |
| Organism | A living thing that's able to perform simple acts of survival (Example= human,plants, bacteria.) |
| Population | A group of organisms of the same species. (Example= wolves) |
| Community | A group of interacting species sharing a populated environment.(Example: wolves,rabbits, and grass in the same area.) |
| Ecosystem | It has organisms but also includes the land, water, air, rocks and other non-living things in the area. |
| Biome | A major regional or global community that is made up of similar ecosystems (Example= rainforest, tundra, desert.) |
