Who is the Family?
Family Forms
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Nuclear Family | Consists of a mother, father, and one or more children born to them |
| Single-parent Family | One parent raising one or more children |
| Blended Family | Formed when two people marry and at least one already has children |
| Extended Family | Another relative, such as a grandparent or aunt, lives with the family |
| Adoptive Family | Parents legally adopt a child not born to them |
| Foster Family | Includes a child not related to the family but cared for by them as a famiy member |
| Basic Needs | Food, shelter, clothing, and education |
| Emotional Support | Help in difficult times and with building self confidence |
| Values | Teaching right from wrong and what is important in life |
| Socialization | Children learn how to get along with others, how to act in different situations and about their heritage and culture. |

| Role | The part you play in your family and life (exp: brother, son, student)Respon |
