Critical Thinking

What is critical thinking? analyzing and evaluating beliefs on the basis of reason and evidence.
Definition of critical thinking? Process by which the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully taking charge of the structures inherent in thinking and imposing intellectual standards upon them.
What are the critical thinking standards? clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, significance, fairness
What is the result of the critical thinker? raises vital questions and problems, clearly and precisely, gathers and assesses relevant information, uses abstract ides, comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, tests them against relevant criteria and standards, communicates effectively
What is critical thinking gathered from? observance, experience, reflection, communication, and resoning
What is the application of critical thinking? Identifies appropriate models and problem-solving tools; routinely seeks out additional information; able to simplify practical situations to solvable problems.
What is the analysis of critical thinking? Identifies salient arguments pro and con; justifies key results and procedures; explains assumptions and reasons; consistently justifies conclusion with data/ facts' thoughtfully analyzes unexpected outcomes.
